Background

Spotlight 2025 was a marketing conference attracting 1,300+ marketers, with 100+ speakers, and 170+ sessions. There were three different ticket types, which affected the type of sessions attendees could join:

All Access pass

VIP pass

Allowed access to the Main keynote stageAllowed access to two keynote stages and registrations to Mastermind sessions Allowed access to two keynote stages and guaranteed access to attendees’ preferred Mastermind sessions

Of all the sessions, 150+ were Mastermind sessions. These were small-group roundtables structured around specific challenges, such as:

  • Future-Proofing Your Website for Upcoming Search Changes
  • Thinking Beyond the Link: How Digital PR Influences AI Search
  • 1-Person Social Team: Navigating the Chaos
  • How to Identify Market Growth Opportunities with AI…and so on…
Spotlight mastermind sessions

Challenge

As there are so many different sessions, it posed a challenge for potential attendees. A simple filter was not sufficient because there were still many sessions they had to sift through to find the ones that dealt with their specific challenges.

This caused attendees to hesitate during the purchase process because they often wanted to do this research before deciding which pass type they should purchase. For example, if a particular session they wanted to attend was a Mastermind session, then it would be worth it for them to purchase an All Access or VIP pass.
